MERIDA Ride 80 2014 Model
Ride 80 is Merida’s entry-class road bike. Though it was about $700, the performance of bike is nothing short of extraordinary.
So far, Merida’s bikes are available in online stores as well as real stores. I bought it at discounted price.

Goog points
The price is very reasonable. Although Giant’s bikes are shifting to higher price and quality, Merida is only brand which provides bikes with this level of cost performance.
The column of fork is made of carbon! Other entry-class bikes never have a carbon column.
Feeling of shifting gear is almost the same as Ultegra 6700. It is better than Tiagra’s shifters.
It is disappointing that chainwheel is not made by Shimano. But there is no problem with it.
Ride 80 is enough for me, enjoy touring on weekends.
Bad points
The design of the bike is not so sophisticated. Color reminds me the logo of Coca-Cola. It is because Merida is originally maker of mountain bikes and not good at road bike design yet.
Since brake system is not shimano’s, I had difficulties to control my bike on downhill. It may be a common problem among entry-class bikes though. Sub-brake would be absolutely necessary.
The position of bottle holder is not straight , little bit inclined against down-tube of the bike.
Memories
I will make memories with this bike in soon.
